I have two auto-feeders for the indoor pond. One keeps the minnows fed the other drops turtle pellets. I still give Martha her veggies on a daily basis. I break the turtle pellets in half and open the feed "shute" all the way. I haven't had an issue with the pellets getting stuck. The feeders are about 12 inches above the surface of the water, so water intrustion isn't an issue. The feeder drops about 10 pellets worth over 2 feeds per day.
Over Christmas 2011 we went to visit family. We couldn't get anyone to watch Martha, so she stayed by herself for 11 days. The feeders were full when we left and about 1/2 full when we returned. Which is about right - they are suppose to hold enough for 4 weeks of feeding. I felt bad that she wouldn't get veggies, but I left a handful of leaves of Romaine for her. Generally she eats about 1 leaf a day, so she should have had enough veggies for about half the trip. I also left her with 12 minnows. She didn't bother with the minnows, but that's normal. She may eat a minnow a month. Since Christmas she's only eaten 2.
