Is it okay to feed turtles spinach?

on some websites it says cut up raw chicken breast is very good for the babies and on others it states that its not! so confusing! can someone clear that up for me!

---also i would like to hear what you guys feed your turtles to keep them healthy

so far i fed my turtles:::: carrots, cucumbers, pellets and fish---> Trixie always goes after the smaller guppies, SpeedRacer picks out the biggest one :)

No to spinach (high in oxalic acid, which inhibits calcium absorption if fed regularly) and never to raw chicken (possible salmonella). You can very occasionally give a bit of boiled white chicken meat as a treat, but never raw.

How about a decent pellet (Reptomin) to help round out the diet? Look at the info on feeding for what's good (and not) good to give.

We offer greens (turnip and dandelion) and pellets regularly. We give blue berries, sweet potato, tomatoes, rosy reds, and anacharis as treats. Anacharis is a treat because my turtle rips it apart and spreads it all over the tank :roll:

The main site has a big list of foods you can feed though. So give that a good look. I keep mikey's food list on my fridge as a reference.
