Feeding and Nutrition :: My 2 year old keeps eating my snails-any suggestions?

I bought 3 small snails to help keep tank clean and my turtle ate them all. I then purchased 2 longhorn snails that are the size of golf balls but he keeps harassing them. I don't know what to do, any suggestions?

* I can't place any fish in there either, he finishes them off in a couple of days, that pigie!

Stop buying snails.......
RES will eat anything you put in there.

Most RES are too aggressive for any other creatures in the tank... including other RES.

Mine does the same exact thing. I put guppies in my tank to see if he would eat them he didn't so I took them back out one is still in there. I don't think he can see them.

LOL tanasah93, how big is the tank... maybe so small that he cant see the guppies. cuz mine eats guppies fast (if he can catch them)

Yeah stop buying snails unless u give them some kind of snail armor or snail self-defense LOL

My RES ate my pleco after sharing the tank for over a year, the RES just got big and ate it while i went on vacation. And do you know how a pleco feels? pretty sharp and thick-skinned, it was like a fish with stronger muscles.

My advice would be buy a handful of snails, put them in a 10 gallon, wait a month and you'll have 100. Once you get them going you can just keep adding them to the tank as needed. They breed supper fast and have tons of babies.
