What about butterhead lettuce? Can I give to my turtles?? Taste crunchy like romaine lettuce

Looks like it's got about the same nutritional profile as romaine lettuce, so I think it should be fine for turtles

What does butterhead lettuce look like compared to romaine? Both my turts like crunchier food, I'd like to get some.

I usually call it "Butter lettuce". It has round leaves like romaine, but is more leafy.

Romaine lettuce is in the moderate category and I would place butterhead in that category as well. Meaning they can be used to vary the diet but not as a staple.

OMG I seriously had that a week ago, and I just figured it was regular leaf lettuce. I even gave some to my turtles. They seemed to really like it.

That is a really weird coincidence.

Thanks guys for the confirmation . I also thought that Butterhead fall under moderate category because taste same like Romaine. For my personal experienced, I like to eat butterhead lettuce just like dat. hihi.. I like the leaves that feel crunchy and have kind softy like velvet.. yummy

I should sneakily convince my mother to buy more of that lettuce...

I did that the other day with the blueberries. I have a separate baggy for them label "turtle berries", that I keep in the freezer so they stay fresh before I thaw and feed. Took them a few minutes to get used to them, but they seemed to really like them, skin and all.

By the way, I gave each of them a whole blueberry, rather than half. I wanted to really get all the nutrients into their system to help their shedding.
