Feeding and Nutrition :: Size of their Heads...?

I am slightly confused as to feeding them portions proportianate to the "size of their heads". Roughly how many pieces of ReptoMin is that for a slider that is 3 3/4 inches long?

I would say a flush tea spoon should good enough for a turtle his size.

Like Jozzep suggested, find a measuring spoon that looks roughly the size of your turt's head. For my 7 and 8.5" RES, a plastic picnic spoon is about the right size.

Yup, you can reduce feedings to every second day now.

My turtle ALWAYS looks so hungry and looks for food around the bottom of the tank. She tried eating the river rocks :/

Also, only about 4 ReptoMin sticks fit in the 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon that is the size of the turtle's head. Should I offer a little more due to the fact the the "stick" shape of the foods take up more room in the spoon over the rounded pellet food types. I hope that makes sense.

Do you have a calcium supplement in the tank? Like cuttlebone? Sometimes they nip at their rocks or basking dock when they are looking for calcium.

Turtles are always after food. Doesn't always mean they are hungry.

When I stopped using reptomin sticks, I fed my girls about three a piece, and they are currently at two inches. For a 3 and a half inch turtle, I'd say about four or five would be fine.
