MY kame is suffering from obesity because I gave her a lot of animal protein like samall fish, shrimp, cricktet and chicken...she hated veggie. but for the last 2 months she had undergo strict diet n only eat veggie. my question is can she eat small animal again now? at least 1 cricket a month? or I can't give her any small animal anymore?

One cricket a month should be just fine.

agreed with BullDog. once a month will do no harm and I think that even though Kame is pudgy and on a strict diet, she still deserves some treats once in a while.

just don't cave in to her cuteness and give her too many yummies :p

novroz, are you only feeding veggies with no protein or turtle pellets whatsoever? That's not healthy! You should continue to feed a head-sized portion of pellets every other day even though she is pudgy. It will take a number of months to start to show a change, but veggies only will cause the turtle to have no energy or metabolism.

I missed that! I agree 100% with Jax. Feeding a head sized amount of pellets every second day will slowly but safely get her weight down.
No protein whatsoever is not healthy.

Yes,I've seen a pic. of Kame and his is a little heavy, but feeding him the right amount of pellets will help him loose weight. Also by feeding veggies. But I agree w/ everyone.A cricket once a month should be fine so he can get some protein, but not too much.

ups...sorry I wrote the wrong sentence...She had veggie, cuttlebone and pellet. Veggie in the morning and noon, pellet at night and cuttlebone tied to her container.

So I can give her treat once a month :) Glad to hear that...thx guys

What kind of crickets are you giving her and how large are they? You can give more than one cricket a month depending on the rest of the diet and their size.
