I hand feed them all the time when i give them meat so that i dont have to put the meat in the water cos they may not see it and the water will smell ; and now they are on diet because of the pyrimiding and they get far more veggies than proteins. And when i give them the veggies from my hand they simply ignore it and keep looking in my hands for meat. But the moment i move away from the tank, they realise that thats it so they go for the veggies and for a second theres nothing left... LOL
