hi guys ive con across some calcium & vitamin D tablets in my local pharmacy they contain:

calcium carbonate DC, microcrystalline celulose DC, stearic acid, vitamin D preparation.

what are your views on disolving one or two of these in the water on water change day. each tablet has

calcium 400mg
vitamin d 2.5ug

also they are free from added wheat, dairy, lactose, sugar, yeast, gluten, salt, corn, maize, starch, artificial colours or preservatives.

not sure if thats any use but there you go

oh and they are suitable for vegetariens lol

im not really sure how it would affect a turtle. i would think that if you give cuttlebone and have a uvb than you wouldnt need a supplement.

I think it'd be ineffective.
If you're worried about how much calcium and vitamin D3 your turtle is getting, you can dust his food with a reptile dust that has both D3 and calcium.
However, like daniel said, if your turtle has cuttlebones and access to UVB there should be no issues.

Have you seen any signs that your turtle isn't getting enough calcium?

Those tablets are intended for people, not turtles.

Stick with a proper varied diet, proper lighting, and then cuttlebone as an alternative natural source of calcium.
