Feeding and Nutrition :: Is this a Superworm

yes, superworms are ok to feed to your RES. no you should not feed that superworm to your RES only because you don't know where it has been.
superworms should be used as treats only because of their high protein.

hopefully i've answered the question directly enough that you get the point.

Even if you watched the worm escape from the can and crawl along the shelf and are 100% sure it didn't crawl anywhere else, I still wouldn't recommend feeding it to the turtle. Throw it out and get new ones if you want to feed them to the turtle.

Are you kidding me? there are 2 full pages of people telling you why. i dont understand why its so hard for you to figure it out. it isnt a difficult concept to grasp. throw the worm out. keeping one worm for that long is weird any way. and keeping it for this long after people have told you to get rid of it is stupid.

Guys, chill. Maybe he already threw it out and he's asking out of curiosity. K9ck024, I wouldn't recommend it because you don't know what's been on that shelf. Hundreds of hands have touched it, the workers might have touched after cleaning up animal waste. And those shelves aren't sanitized after every shift either, if ever for that matter. There's too many possibilities of transferring something unsafe to your turtle. You could be introducing your turtle to some very harmful bacteria and then have to pay out the whazoo for vet bills to figure out what he caught. It's much safer and cheaper to spend the $5 and feed your turtle the quarantined worm.
