How do you peel a cuttlebone? Which section do you peel off?

i dont feed my turtles cuttlebone. where do you get those anyway?

Cuttlebone is found in the bird section of the pet store or online.

You need to first figure out which side is the hard backing. This is easiest by trying to pierce your fingernail into it. It should feel like either styrofoam (good side) or plastic (bad side).

Then, there are a variety of methods, do whatever is SAFEST for you, but I personally take a paring knife and work pieces off. A lot of pieces are lost, but since it's rather cheap, I don't worry about efficiency.
