Feeding and Nutrition :: full swing on veggies

i got my turtle in september or october of last year, so he is probably around 5-6 months old. I fed him way too much when i first got him, and he grew very very fast. Hes in between 3.5 and 4 inches. Im wondering if by any chance it would be a good idea to get him off of pellets completely right now, and put him on a veggie only diet? i just dont know if it is too early in his life to this. Thanks.

No. That's not a good idea. Your turtle's nutritional requirements are the same- he still needs a balanced diet of pellets and veggies. Cutting out the pellets now won't do anything to fix the earlier overconsumption of pellets. Any shell issues will have to be given time to somewhat grow out. The shell might never be perfect but it certainly will improve dramatically if you give it time and are feeding a correct diet now.
It's great that Apollo is liking veggies now, be sure and feed him a variety of them and keep giving him the pellets, and he'll be great

I think that even once your turtle is full grown, you still feed some pellets each week.
