ok, so ive got these two turtle babies and ive been reading this site for a few days. Ive got all the stuff they need and theyre pretty well set up (pictures soon). ive been feeding them reptomin baby pellets, 2 each, and a little bit of bloodworms, today i tried a peice of carrot-no interest. gonna try some leafy greens tomorrow. I feed twice a day and ive been putting them both in a separate container to eat, but my really dumb question is : am i supposed to be filling the container i feed them in with water? and if so water from their tank? tap water? im very confused on this aspect of feeding. any input would be greatly appreciated.

They need water to swallow there food since they don't have saliva. You could put some of their tank water in the feeding container or at least some water that is about the same temp as their tank.

that makes sense! I didnt know about the saliva thing. thank you so much! How much water should I add to their food container? just enough to help them swallow? or do they want to be completely under water to eat?

I fill up my feeding tank with some slightly warm tap water and Rexi eats her food like she has never been feed before in her life.

For little/new turtles it's probably best to leave them in the tank for feeding time. Hatchlings are easily stressed out by handling and temperature changes, and they'll be more likely to eat and try new things in the comfort of thier tank.
