Feeding and Nutrition :: Calcium supplement

Has anyone tried this or heard anything about it? Mr. Turtle won't use cuttlebone, so this might be an easier alternative to having to break it into powder form.

but how does it get into the turtle's system? is it just a water sprinkling or do u need to hand feed them so it doesn't wash off in the water?

Its fine if you use this as a replacement for cuttlebone

Just lightly wet pellets and sprinkle a little of the powder
Put the pellets in a zip lock bag and let it dry over night

I was thinking more along the lines of coating fruits and veggies, like people suggest on this forum using a calcium dusting.

Rep-Cal Calcium has a pretty good reputation, though if you have a UVB light, do not get the one with Vitamin D3.

RepCal is recommended by a lot of experienced turtle keepers. I use the product, especially in the winter months. I use the one with Vit D even when my turtles have UVB lights in the winter, but I don't use it in the summer when they're outside and bask in the sun.
