I would like to build an indoor pond in my basement mayb like 500 gallons around that size. Anyone have a good link to give me to guide me in building this?

What kind are you looking for? Wood/Liner? Poured concrete?

I was thinking about building one also. Except I want to make one based off that 4x4 design so I can take it apart and move it. Like to have it out from may->sept and in my basement oct->april.

Have you considered a plastic pond/stock tank specifically designed to sit above ground? No construction needed, but will only work if you have a big entrance to basement.

do they make big ones like over 200 gallons. and wouldnt it need to be reinforced?

Mine is 360 gallons.

They are already reinforced as they are designed to be free standing.

Yep stock tanks are the best. You can get them in metal or plastic. I have a video of my stock tank in The rest of my family. Mine is 300 gallons

Check Tractor Supply Company and Plastic Mart. They both have the plastic stock tanks in various sizes up to 1000 gallons. I got lucky and found a 625 gallon tank on craigslist for $175. I hope to start that pond project mid May.

yes, but that's only a temp solution, because those are usually made from fairly thin plastic. plus you have to make sure that the turtles can't climb on the slide thing that's usually on the kiddie pool. You'd still be better off with a stock tank. A stock tank will last you forever, and they come in all sizes.

look up snapset pool. its the same difference as a stock tank. what prevents a turtle from getting out of a stock tank. im gonna build walls probably. oh and they dont have slides on these ones lol.

I found this set of videos on YouTube and they gave me some good ideas about indoor pond construction.

I have sprinklers and water drainage pipes all over my back yard and I've already forgotten where they are, so I'm using this above ground style for my new outdoor pond. Hope this helps.
