Im gonna be moving to a small house that has a small backyard pretty soon, and I heard it has a "Pond" in the back, How would I be able to move the turts there? what about parasites & disease? Also the winter is here in texas already and we get cold days occassionally.. Would that be okay? Or would I have to take them in for nights and cold days? Also if anyone knows how could I make a little enclosure for my russian out there where he couldnt escape? just to be out for a little bit, nothing permanant maybe once a week. They can dig very well (one of their best abilities.)

if the pond is deeper then 4 feet they could stay out their year round, provided they get a chance to hiberate in the early fall (i think they should stay in a tank till summer)

even if the pond was established i'd still drain it and clean it. you never know what could be lurking in there...

the pond should already have a filter with it. But yes, it would need a good filter, not just water changes. Check out the outdoor habitat section for ideas.
