well since my 30 gallon tank is really bare right now i need some ideas.
all i have is a heater, a turtle med dock, and soon to be xp3 filter

post your tank ideas plz(and i have already looked at the gallery)
and i am oppen to any ideas

I think a colorful or interesting background helps.

Plastic plants look really good. The turtles like to hide in them and, if the leaves reach up near the top of the water, they can rest in them when they get tired of swimming, sticking their little noses up for air.

River rocks look good and turtles like to play with them. You don't need too many, just enough to add some interest for you and your turtle. Too many and they are hard to clean.

When you get your XP3, consider setting the outflow bar above the water line so the water cascades down like a waterfall. It's kind of noisy but if you angle it in towards the glass wall it's not too bad. It looks neat and turtles like to play in the waterfall.

By the way, the XP3 is going to be very powerful filter for a 30 gallon tank. You'll probably need to reduce the flow some (there's a handle for that).

When you get it setup, why don't you post some photos - we love to see different setups!

i didnt know that you could position the spray bar above the water, sounds like a good idea.

You can set a plant pot that is bigger than your turtle at the bottom of the cage as a hiding spot.

We've used large pretty soup bowls and those little turtle huts that look like logs just in half.

Looking good! I love that water lilly. Where did you get it? It will be a good place for the turtles to hang onto and rest.

I think some sort of interesting or colorful backing for that tank would be nice. Then add a few river rocks for the turtles to play with and you are on your way!

You could put a background, or MAKE a back ground! The background on my turtle tank is one I made myself. Underwater, you see this dark scene with sea dinosaurs swimming. Then above the water I used pictures of waterfalls and forests that I took myself.

You could also buy lots of small plastic plants that stick to the bottom of your tank

When you get your uvb lamp, remember that the mesh on top of your tank will probably block out most of the rays unless the wires are at least 1/2 inch apart. You might need to cut an opening for the light to pass through, or find an alternate covering with enough space!

I got my xp3 filter finally
Also my 2 leftover guppies had babies today(11 little guppies)

I have a question though about the filter

For some reason it cant get the stuff on the bottom of the tank
so can someone help me?
