Habitat - Indoor :: question about putting a lil bubblely thingy

i had a bubblely maker in the tank while back like as in airpump makin bubbles. i have a like thingy ill post a pic its two lil turtles that go up when bubbles come up

If you're asking whether an air bubbler is okay, I wouldn't see any problem with it, as long as there's nothing that the turtles could accidentally ingest. Air bubblers are always good for aquaria as it helps with gas exchange (increasing oxygen and releasing CO2). I think at least it would be very entertaining for the turtles! I think if you were to put the air pump on a timer so it came on for like 20 minutes every couple of hours, the turtles would be less likely to get bored with it.

Wow i love that idea about putting the air pump on a timer! I used to have some bubbles going in my turtle's tank, but i moved the goldfish that had been living with him into thier own tank and moved the bubbler to that tank, and i've noticed that without the surface agitation caused by the bubbles the surface of the water looks kinda scummy sometimes, so i was thinking about getting one for him again. He was always very interested in it when it was turned on or off, and i've been feeling like he needs some entertainment, so i just love the timer idea! I'm definitely gonna hook that up for him as soon as i have some extra cash!

well before i had one and when i had it on they like spazed but ill try your idea of putting it on a timer. my other question would be whats a good one to buy? or do i just buy like a cheap one?

What's a good air pump to buy? For a simple bubbler in relatively shallow water, any cheap pump will do. The bigger pumps are for pushing bubble through deep water or through airstones where there would be a lot of pressure required.

Whisper and tetra are good brands for air pumps.

alrighty how about for a 150gal i dun have one but would you need a pretty decent one for that?

If the water isn't more than 12 to 15 inches deep, a cheap one should be fine. Of course, the bigger or more expensive you go, the better and more reliable the pump will be.
