so i checked my basking temps today and they were at 106. texas did have a couple 100 degree days during last summer, but i worry that's too high. i took out the 75w bulb and put in the 60w now it's at 90. is it safe to put the 75w back in or should i just leave it alone?

If the 60 is getting 90, I think that's all you need. Especially if you've got little turts :)

I agree, the 90 will do fine. I had a 75W in as well and it got up to 110. I replaced it with a 50W and moved the light a little closer to get it to 96 and the turts are basking all the time.
