Habitat - Indoor :: Sunsun filter is here

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Can it sit next to the tank though? The tank is sitting on a wooden platform, but it's only a couple inches off the ground. So either the filter needs to sit next to the tank, or I need to find a stand.

Should have came with instructions ? Most canister filters need to sit lower than the tank. But i guess you can always try it.

1 DBT White Concentric Female/ Lucky

Try it, you may have some problems priming. If that is the case you may need to start the filter from a bucket or container above the tank, once the filter is going and all the air is out of the system move it into the tank.

Most canister filters work by gravity, they typically have to sit lower than the tank for best performance.

I can not find a used stand, most people are selling them with a tank.

Would something like this work? Or does it need to be supported all the way to the edges of the table?

I just worry about the distribution of weight since the table isn't supported along the edges.

Yes, and he builds furniture for a living, so I trust that it will be well built. I pointed him to a couple of threads here to see stands others have built so hey! if you're reading this!

For $63 or $75 you can get a metal one with free shipping from Petco. I bet if you do some internet shopping or look for deals / coupons it would be cheaper. (not trying to discourage you from having a stand built... just trying to provide another option)
