Dumped my old basking platform for a new, stable and yet very affordable one. although it looks ugly, but my RES climbed onto it within half a day. i think the textured surface of those small tiles makes them feel at home :D

Old Platform, i think it's from exo. It's good for the initial stage. as times goes by, the stand rot and gave way and cannot hold the pressure of 2 RES actively begging for food

My new DIY platform :D cost me less than 20bucks and offer so much stability

The process and materials for building

Some raw cut textured rocks

Eggcrates and PVC pipes cut according to the space which I planned to instill the platform duly binded by small thin cable ties

Finished product. The ramp to the top is fixed with non-slip map.

The rocks sticked together with 2parts epoxy.

And the 3 little devils are loving the new platform

Glad to see them using it. You can get larger pieces of tile to cover the main area of the portion.

thank you everyone. actually the idea originate from my reef keeping days but was tweaked to suit RES and people in this forum are doing it. it's actually very simple to build and offers values for money.

you do not need to glue those PVC pipes. just shove them into the T/elbow joints. this is to enable you to modify the stand when you require to widen the platform.
