Could I add a powerhead to my aquarium? To increase waterflow from one side of my aqaurium to the other?

I've been pretty happy with my Aqueon circulation pump:

I've also heard good things about Hydor Koralia circulation pumps

Would it make a wave affect? I don't want that,

They have to cycle on and off to make a wave effect which requires some sort of controller. If just left on, they will provide a continuous flow of water with no wave effect.

Aqueon pumps are for rookies Mr. Duck. Go Ecotech or go home :P

Cheapest useful powerhead is probably the Maxijet 900 or 1200. They're about $18-22 online.

Yeah it's just a bit less flow.. not sure how much you're looking for. That powerhead you've linked is still $12 shipped. The maxijets aren't the nicest powerheads, but they are work horses. For the price they're very very hard to beat. They also can be turned into utility pumps - I have and use several of them.

250+? The MP40 is 450+ with the wireless controller. Separate replaceable wet side and dry side, low profile equipment in the tank, less cords in the water.... sweet.

I was looking at the MP10, the MP40 is like 1000-4000 gph, this is like gale force winds in my 55 gallon!

You should see the MP60, MP80 or the upcoming MP100. They've demo'd them at a few of the reef shows.

And that's NOT gale force winds. The hydrowizard is gale force winds at 50,000 GPH. It's got an exit velocity of 11 feet/sec. So in a four foot 55Gal tank, your turtle would get blown clear across the tank in roughly a third of a second. :D I think that would meet the OP's request of adding some flow across the tank.. no?

Wow 450 bucks for a circulating pump? I would never pay that much money for something like that lol. But I bet there awesome though.

You would if you invested 10K+ into a reef tank. And you'd buy two, one for each side for waves and storms. :-D
