Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I just had an idea to get one of those rigid pond liners and make an indoor pond. I found one pretty cheap

Could i put this on the third floor of my house, because that's the only place i have room for it. Or is it to heavy?

I also have a pump from canadian tire that is 1000 gallons per hour. I tested it in my bathtub and it shot up a fountain of water about 3 feet high, is this too powerful. Its submersible, will it like suck in my turtle. What would be better some sort of sump or a 5 gallon bucket canister filter? (diy)

Thanks

I don't see how many gallons that pond liner is. water is 8 pounds per gallon.

as far as your pump goes, you're looking to turn over your total water volume 3-5x per hour. So a pump that's 1000 GPH at 0 head might be closer to 900GPH with a short head and the flow restriction of filter media. That being said, a pump pushing 900 GPH should handle a pond up to roughly 300 gallons in volume.

Whatever filter design you go with, you'll need lots of space to house bio media, some filter floss or sponge and some carbon. Building a "canister" out of a 5 gallon bucket or 5 gallon buckets seems like the cheapest easiest solution. A sump would imply that you have the pond raised and the ability to put the sump at a lower height than the pond... not sure if that's the best idea with the weight of the pond.
