Habitat - Indoor :: Q's about DIY ATBA

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Helllo everyone! For lack of space and growing turtles, I'm looking to build an ATBA. It's for on top of a regular 55 gallon tank, for two turtles. I've seen many many wonderful pictures of set-ups, so I'm looking for the following:
What materials did you use for the sides, bottom, top(if applicable), and ramp?
What materials are safe for turtles as far as keep it together? i.e. glue, whatever
How does it stay in place?
Any tips for someone with no clue at how to go about this?

Thank you everyone so so so much for your suggestions, and I apologize if this has all been answered separately before.

I'm putting together some ATBA links, but there are plenty of ideas here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15260

There are 2 types that I like to recommend, however they are not true ATBAs but can sit fairly high in a tank. First is a cork bark wedge (100% natural, looks nice in a tank) and the other is a PVC/ceramic tile setup. You just need to cut the PVC and possibly tile and tools for those are not hard to come across.
