Hi People, My Basking light just went out, I had a Exo Terra swamp light. Well i went and Bought a new one. Well i didnt pay attn. On the box it says "Daylight" not "Swamp" light. Can you guys tell me the difference in them. Should return it back or keep it... Need help before i take it out of the Box..... Please :mrgreen:

The swamp lamp has an extra protective coating for operation in extremely humid setups. You shouldn't need to worry about that with a turtle.

So theres no difference between the Both lights, They look different. The daylight says its used for plants??? But its not Spashproof... Its far from the Tank to get wet..... Thanks for any Help.....

I think the new one should be fine. You might also want to consider GE halogen bulbs or the Turtle Tuff lamps.

any info on these bulbs, on GE halogen bulbs or the Turtle Tuff lamps. Is the Ge bulb a normal light??? Thanks.

This is the bulb I use... GE Edison 50W Flood light (which I buy at a local hardware store). http://www.thebulbdepot.com/productDeta ... ID_E_13065

The Turtle Tuff is a similar halogen light, that's marketed as splash-proof. It should cost around $8-9
