so i have a 50g and a 20g tank. the 20 is unused as i bought the 50 to upgrade. im thinking of smashing out the bottom of the 20 to put it on top of the 50 to make sort of a enclosed basking area and that would also allow me to fill the 50g with more water and use the 20 for an elaborate basking area. what do you guys think?

Dimensions:
20g-- 30"L x 12.5"W x 12.5"H

50g-- 48"L x 13.12"W x 18.75H

Not worth the effort in my opinion, but I've seen it done before.

it wasnt hard and why go and spend money on glass sheets or plexiglass sheets when i can use what i have. i'll upload pics tomorrow or this wednesday. wednesday i will start planning and constructing the new ATBA and let everyone see whatever i make. but all i did was prop the tank above my trashcan and take a crowbar to the bottom of it, the only part that sucked was getting the bottom plastic border liner off. and even that was pretty easy, i just got some pliers and ripped it off, took off the big chunks of glass, cut the silicone off with a razor and then sanded down wherever glass was to make sure there were no more particles left. and between each step i hosed it down to keep glass dust from getting all over it and also did the sanding wet. 8)
