It's probably an algae bloom. What kind of filter do you have? Is there any biological media in your filter? Is the media new or established? If you replaced or cleaned the biological filtration recently... it will need to re-establish. Are your basking bulbs old? When bulbs get old, the spectrum of light they emit lessens...which in turn promotes algae growth. Is your tank getting any direct sunlight? Sunlight will also promote algae growth. Using tap water...Phosphates in your water? Phosphates are a source of food for algae.
