I redid my tank... i added sand and an ATBA that i built myself LOL... gonna have hubby build me a new design when he gets home... i want it to only be on half the tank so i can still look in the top and access it easier.

Looks really good, you did an impressive job on the ATBA, though I can see why you'd prefer to be able to look in at least a little. I really wish I'd know about ATBAs when I had my custom tank built in this past May, I would've done it differently to accommodate one!

May I ask how long it took your sand to settle? We just added sand yesterday to my tank, and hubby did the sand-pre-washing while I was at work, and though I left him instructions on how to do it, I don't think he followed them! It's only been a day, but I don't see any improvement yet in my water getting clearer. :(

I put it in 3 days ago... i washed it for about an hour and it took about 12 hours to be able to see the turtles swimming unless they were against the glass... then about another 24 or so before it finally didn't look cloudy at all anymore.

Looks very nice! How's that filter working out and what's making the purple light?

The basking light i have is a purple color... and i love the cannister filter, it keeps my water super clean and i don't have to do partial water changes every other day.... its my new favorite thing. They now have a background on the tank as well!

looks very nice :)

trevor's mom, i did sand in my tank last week. luckily i washed mine for so long i didn't have any issues with clouding, but from what i've read it can take a few days for some people's water to clear up if it wasn't fully clear when washed. I'd give it a few days and if it isn't cleared up you might want to take it back out and rewash it. Hopefully it will clear up on its own for you.
