I've always had algae on my turtle dock but lately it's starting to turn black, what is this? Is it bad for my turtle?

Whether bad or not, scrubbing it and keeping the tank clean is always a good idea.

I've never had problems with it making the tank dirty. It makes the tank look more natural with it.
