I have a rena xp3, and it sucks up a lot of stuff, but in the corner where the filter input is, where things get sucked up, some collects in the corner right under it. It doesnt all get sucked up and it just sits there. Does this happen in ur tanks? I have to net it out if i want it gone, cuz it just doesnt all get sucked up.

Get a powerhead IMO. I have not tried one but will be getting one for my new tank. They basically push everything on the bottom toward your filter intake.

I had the issue too. I ended up rearranging the input/output tubes of my filters ( I have 2 XP3s) so that the output was spraying water horizontally across the bottom of the tank (using the spray bar) towards the intake. Then I added a small powerhead to help move the crud around that kept getting stuck in the planted section of the tank. Now, the only problem I have is my turtle pulling the tubes off their suction cups

I dont want the filter to collect all the poop, then i just have to clean it sooner, i beleive that it may be normal for this to happen, syphon up the poop when you do a water change.

the purpose of the filter is to pick up the waste and clean the water as much as possible. If you don't want to clean the filter every week or whatever, you need to get a larger filter. You shouldn't allow waste to collect in your tank between water changes.
