Habitat - Indoor :: well water

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I am new to RES and want to give mine the best care possible. I have been on turtle sites all weekend and can't seem to find a straight answer to my question. What is the best water to use in a RES tank? We have softened well water, but we used some clean rain water until I can get an answer. Is it ok to use well water that is softened? I'm sorry if this has been answered already, but I couldn't find it in the search. Thanks for all you help!! :D

The only worry I would have with well water is the hardness, but since you're softening it I think you're good to go.

I use treated Philly tap water, and I doubt that is any better than your well water.

Your well water's probably great for turtles! It probably won't have much chlorine or chloramines in it, which is great.
