My new fluval FX5 showed up today. And I've three empty media baskets I can fill. I've got two five inch RES in 100 gallon pond. So what would be good filter media? Carbon, ammonia pellets, BioZorb, Etc? Thanks!

Mechanical (some kind of sponges) media and biomedia, the more the better.

Yup, mechanical and biomedia are your main media. I've also got carbon in mine.

In mine I have:
Top: Fluval Prefilter (which I don't recommend) and a green scrubbie.
Middle: Carbon + bioballs
Bottom: Biomax.

Some people skip the carbon. It's really a personal choice. Feel free to experiment, and find what works for you.

In mine I have:
Top: Fluval PreFilter (which I also don't recommend for this filter)
Middle: Bonded filter pad (the blue filter)
bottom: biomax, biomax, and more biomax.

Pretty soon I'll be taking out the PreFilter, moving the filter pad up to the top, then filling the bottom 2 areas the rest of the way with bio-media. I keep my chemical filtration in my sump so I can maneuver it however I like without taking the FX5 apart and messing with the BioMedia.
