Habitat - Indoor :: new filter?

My old filter has burned out and I need a new filter for my 35L tank. The pet store recommended this one:

It's a bit pricey, but is it good? And is there a more affordable alternative that's close to as efficient?

It's a great filter....
Cheap filters well, are cheap.A penn plax cascade 1000 would be a little cheaper and still do a good job
