I was going to use Astro turf that plastic grass stuff for Bently's basking spot. I was wondering if there are is a different substrate i can cut and use as a substrate. I also want there to be a really natural look. Any suggestions?

I would lean towards cork bark.

The "floor" of my ATBA is a ceramic tile. It gets nice and warm and helps to keep the temperature of the basking area pretty uniform. The only thing is I'd rather have something that the turtle could get UP onto so he can dry his underside quicker. Cork bark would probably be great for that since the inconsistency of the surface will let warm air underneath while basking.

Bent-11 -- In reference to the astro turf: I put some in, years ago, and one turtle like to eat it. He wound up sick and I wound up pulling it out of his rear. It was not a good experience. When putting anything in a turtle tank you have to remember they may try and eat it. m.
