Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I have a reptofilter, should the filter be above water enough so the waterfall makes water ripple noise and bubbles in the tank? or should i put it low so it doesn't make any noise (except for the motor) with no bubbles at all.

I like the filter a little high because of the bubbles and the turtles enjoy staring at it O_O. but my only concern is the loud ripple noises disturb the turtles.

I have the same filter and I like it quiet so I try to have the water level high..I like the quiet.
