Habitat - Indoor :: television terrariums

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I have heard of people do this for snakes/lizards...

Some people have recycled old televisions to make terrariums. Usually this replacing the TV screen with plexiglass, and making other little modifications. As far as the old school big screen TV's are concerned, would anyone know if there is anything super unique/special I would need to do to prepare something like this for turtles? (I kind of figure the obvious, remove sharp edges and prevent leaks) Would the water damage the material/plastic the TV is made from at all?

im not sure if it would be strong enough for an aquarium.
Horsepower is how fast you hit a wall. Torque is how far you move a wall

I guess it'd depend on the make of the TV itself.

There's also "oil" drums which I've worked with on other types of projects. But those requite a lot more preparation and work.

Well, what i would do is hollow out the tv to just the bare frame, and find a tank that would just drop inside it. Like a 10-20gal. But really, that's not near enough space for turtles. Would look cool for fish though.

Oh, see, I wasn't intending on putting a tank in the TV, just using the TV itself.

But yeah, it would look awesome for fish.

We have one in the student lounge which is about as long as a 50 gallon, but the width would be like, a foot and a half wide... Wouldn't work until adulthood, and might need modifications.
