Ok well first to start i`m really new to the RES. A couple months ago while on vaction in Myrtle Beach seen these turtles in a tourist shop and the worker who really did not speak good english talked me into buying 2 of them. Well thank god i found this site when i got home because anything she told me of taking care of them was all wrong. I got them set up the way i read on here and they have been doing good. They are however getting bigger and it is time to upgrade. I was looking into a 55 gallon tank or a 40. The 55 is 48L 13W 20H and the 40 is 36L 18W 16H. Which would be better? Also what canister filter would be the best? This might be off subject here but how can you tell how old they are because if they are over a year old you feed them pellets every other day and if not a year then everyday? Also i know i read it somewhere but i forgot how many times a day should i feed them pellets? As for a basking area i have a yellow styrofoam floating thing i bought at petco should i keep using that kind of a device or something else? they like it they use it to bask now obviously i get a bigger tank i will need a bigger floating thing. Also should i buy a new uv a/b light? the one i have is 50 watt i beleive.
