I just used a pair of needle nosed plyers, but it did break the egg crate in a few spots, So I used a regular pair of plyers to make it all smooth.

oh ok. is it possible to use really strong scissors? like kitchen scissors (those can cut through hard cardboard), or would it not be strong enough to cut through the egg crate?

I use a set of angle nose cutters or a dremel with a cutting disk for smooth precise cuts.

scissors should hack through it alright..like kitchen shears though, not little kid fiskars haha.

I used a kitchen knife at 1st then nail clippers to trim to fit...Be careful with the knife if you choose that route though...I wasn't *OUCH*

I use plain ol' wire cutters. Works like a charm for me...
