hmm.

thats exactly what im going to be doing once the petco sale is on.
i cant wait

maybe some river rocks? several, not too many.

when i get my 55 gallon, im really considering putting a thin layer of sand, maybe 2 inches and then some river rocks, and then a skeleton of a t rex head hahaha.

That's a great upgrade, but I would take out those little pieces of gravel. Your turtle can eat them and die of impaction. You can put in larger river rocks (they're sold at hardware stores and pet stores) or larger marbles. Just so long as the rock is bigger than his head.

As for more decoration, you can add a background around the back three walls. you can also add vegetation (fake or real) and some hides. I can't remember if I saw them in there or not, but you could also use some bubble stones to agitate the water.

you need to take the little rocks out. a few fake plants in there would look pretty good

Also, you'll want to either enclose the basking part of the tank or lower the water level. That looks high enough for the little turts to escape.
