Habitat - Indoor :: separate feeding tank

Hi, are Fluval FX5's powerful enough that you don't need to feed in a separate area? My filter is cheap right now so it's not as good.

How large is the turtle and how large is your tank?
If your turtle is already cramped in your tank, you may want to consider feeding separately. But, an FX5 is a large filter, and if you have the appropriate tank size to go with it, I don't see how one turtle could be a problem.

I feed both of my turtles in their "home" tanks and don't have any issues with it. When I feed something like lettuce that tends to get messy I feed them a few small meals of it throughout the day instead of dropping one larger leaf in for them to shred all over the tank.

Honestly, I feed right in my 75 gallon tank with a FX5 and have had no problems. My turtles a voracious eater and never leaves a pellet behind though. I have a couple of feeder fish in there and a couple plecos, I feed him veggies in the tank every day too, he gets (a very messy) frozen turtle food cube about once a week and pellets every day (he's still under 4") and my water quality has been great with the fluval.

I feed in the tank too, and i've never had any water quality issues. I have a 75 gallon tank with an XP3. I can't imagine it would be a problem with an FX5.
