Im thinking of getting a turtle but im not sure, what type of turtle would be happy in there...any help?

50 gallon limits your choices to just the smallest of aquatic turtles.
Southern painted turtles stay small, and a 50 gallon would probably be alright for even a female, though it could be tight.

A 50 gal would be OK for a male map, but the females tend to get pretty big.

Both painteds and maps are good beginner turtles too, with care similar to RES.
