Drippy doesn't bask
So I've had Drippy for about 3 weeks now. He eats fine, acts like he's adjusted well......keeps busy moving stuff around in his tank. But, he doesn't bask (that I've ever seen). The basking area temp is good ( 85-90 )......the water temp is good ( 75-78 ). There's a basking light and UVB lamp. The basking area is just one of those lame floating things that you suction to the inside.....but there's plenty of room for him to get on it. I'm wondering if this is normal. Does anyone else have turtles that just don't come out of the water?
Is this just a personality thing.....or is it indicative of some sort of health or environment problem? I've read that if the turtle is always comfortable w/ the water temp, they may not feel the need to bask......but I don't know how valid that is.
Thanks!
