Habitat - Indoor :: would this work?

right now i have my two RES in 55 gallon tank,
if i build a basking ramp connecting it to a 30 gallon
tank...could i technically count their space as an 85g?

i don't really have much money to upgrade to a 120 some gallon
tank, and i figured connecting two would work for now...
i thought it'd be a really cool idea :]



any advice?

It sounds ok to me, but then I have only been a res owner for about a month and a half. I am curious as to how you plan on connecting them?
One would think that 85 gallons of water area would be enough, but from what I have heard and read you need about 100 gallons per res per 10-12 scl or size. One can only do what one can do and I like your idea.

Someone on here (maybe DavidY?) did this with great success. You just have to be sure your connector is easy to access and escape proof.

i planned on just building a above tank basking area and ramps going off into one tank and a ramp going off into the other tank, so the turtles can just go into which ever tank they please.


yeah, i should actually be getting a 120 gallon tank,
but i'm only 16 and moneys kind of tight for me, i'm
looking for a job now so i can afford a real tank.
