Habitat - Indoor :: Rocks in his poo!

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

So for months i had little rocks in jims tank untill i found this site. But i changed it to very large rocks so he cant eat them. however i saw him eat two tiny rocks one day and wondered where they come from. Today i put him in a stock tank with No rocks or filter just so he could play. Ten minutes went by and then he pooped when that happened i saw two tiny rocks and immediately took them out. So i finally found out where he found the rocks in his Tank.....he pooped them out and ate them. Im not having a good day. JIm is like a little kid and i constantly have to watch him now to make sure hes not eating more tiny rocks. In the future Im going to remove all rocks out of his tank. So that I will be able to monitor if hes pooping more out :)
Any advice would be appreciated.

This is the exact same thing that happened to someone else. All you really can do is watch him and take out any more rocks when you see them.

Yeah, turtles poop out those little rocks for at least a month after they've been removed!

As you say, you just have to be vigilant and scoop out those rocks when you see them!

At least one person on here had them coming out still 5 months after they got rid of the gravel. http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12532
