Hi, I'm getting a stock tank for Bently. How should I put the UV on? I can't hang it that's the problem. What should I do? Can I make a screen top and lay the lighting directly on it?

yes you can, Or you can buy one for about $15 or less. You want the holes in the screen to ideally be 1/2" so that it does not interfere with the UVB too much. You can get by with 1/4" holes but it will slightly interfere with UVB passing through.

Then you can just put your light directly on top of the screen, this also allows you to raise the water level because there is no fear of escape.

If you need holes in the screen for things like filter hoses, feeding doors, whatever. You can cut a little hole just the size with a pair of wire cutters. I used a Dremel with a cutting disk.

What kind of UV light is it? If it's a compact fluorescent, you can use those standing lamps to hold it.
