Habitat - Indoor :: question about egg crate

i went to home depot to buy some egg crate to build an out of tank basking area. they didn't have any, so i went to another one pretty close by. unfortunately, i bought some type of silver egg crate instead of the normal white one because it was the only thing there. will it be safe for the turtles? i should of saved the label on it!

I originally had the silver kind in Ralph's tank. I don't know what the silver stuff was, but it has long since worn off. I'm not sure if it was a good thing or not to have that silver stuff in there Ralph's still around, and so is the same piece of egg crate, but I honestly don't know if the silver stuff should be in the tank... Sorry I can't be more help!
