SO um how do you know if it is non toxic. wat if it doesnt say. and can u tell by smelling it how and what does it smell like

probably not because they wouldnt be selling toxic plants to put in your aquarium

Well, everything is toxic to a point, it is plastic or fabric after all. You want to look for hardly plastic plants, nothing feathery or enticing them to chop. And keep an eye out for a few days to make sure no chunks are missing. You also want to avoid anything with paint on it if you can.

I have a fake plant in my aquarium and my turtles never bother it, They like swimming under it and back up. I agree with JAX, Just keep watching it for a couple days and make sure they are bitting at it. If not then your probably good to go.

because the fake plants arent from petco or any petsmart.u see i go to this place and they have crafts and i was just wondering about my turtle and its set up so i saw some fake plants and i took like one incase if i needed it and also um its from like a craft thing it DOESNT say if it is or not [toxic] so should i try putting it in the wateR?
its plastic
but it smells really...plasticyyyy. please help

If it's not meant for aquarium use it's best not to use it.

If it's from a craft store you can assume it's not meant for aquarium use. Most silk flowers and craft flowers have dyes that will leech into the water. They also usually have wires in them that will rust.

Stick to the plastic aquarium plants to be sure.
