I bought some cork wood recently for decoration. I rinsed it a couple of times. Now do I need to do any further preparation like presoaking or anything like that.

i hear that the wood will release some minerals (??) into the water. and i think the acidity goes up. you can leave the wood in a bucket for a couple of days and then it should be good. some fish people though just clean the bark and let the bark release its stuff in the tank. so if its good for the fish then i guess its good for your turt.

Cork bark is good in a turtle tank as long as it's the untreated kind that's intended for reptile or fish habitats. Spot's got a couple of big pieces in his pond for basking on and he loves it.

I got the cork bark from a reptile store. I have been soaking it for 2 days. The water has been clear since this morning, so I'm going to add it to the tank tomorrow night. I'm just using it for decoration purposes only.
