Habitat - Indoor :: Some bacteria bloom today..

So i woke up this morning to a cloudy tank...since ive only had it for two weeks im wondering if this is just a bacteria bloom? I did a partial water change about 3 days ago and one this morning noticing the cloudiness....

im not too worried because im aware of the new tank syndrome and my nitrate/nitrite levels are down at the moment and im pretty sure its just ammonia...but the minnows are ok and turtle doesnt seem bothered...

However today is also my payday and i was going to order a filter from bigals....but now since my tank is cloudy...im in a hasty mood to get this thing....

My question is....Should i just go a local place and spend the 100.00 more to get the filter ASAP or just order it from bigals, save money, but wait another week for it arrive?

So i said screw it and ordered it online....Zilla will have to manage until it gets here....anyone ever ordered from bigalsonline?

If so can u tell me how long it took for your order to arrive? I ordered an xp3 and ceramic rings for 115.00!!! they were asking 200 for those two things at Petsmart?!?!

Yes you can get much much better prices if you order online. And Big Al's is one of the best sites. I don't know how long it will take to get the filter. I bought mine online from another place and I think it took about a week to arrive. Your pets should be fine in the meantime as long as you keep changing the water to keep it fresh.

Be warned - when you first set up your filter the bacteria are going to bloom. The bloom happens when bacteria multiply in excess in response to the ammonia and nitrites. The water will look milky white. Once the bacteria get established in your bio filter and the toxin levels get down to zero the water will clear up and should stay clear from that point on but you may have a week or 10 days of cloudy water.
