so i have 5 baby RES in my aquarium, and one of them for some reason started trying to eat the turtle dock. Will he get sick? i kno that now i have to build a basking area, but until then this is all i have.

Mine have tried to eat it too, but with no luck. I dont think hatchling turtles can eat and actually break the turtle dock, but adults can. So I would think that the turtle dock will be OK for a while. Your turtle is just seeing what kind of things are edible and what isn't. It would be really cool though if you could build an upper basking area later on.

yea thats what im planning but its a 125 gallon tank so it kinda takes some time

Try getting some extra calcium in his diet, either with very small pieces of cuttlebone in the tank or with a nonphosphorus calcium supplement. He could be just curious, but sometimes trying to eat docks (and other objects) can be a sign that he's looking for more calcium.
