Hello everyone! Could I submerge this underwater or not since it is real wood?

It would float. How would you submerge it?

right now I've got some real rocks for basking and I put them together and yeah, they climb the rocks to get to their basking spot - its not a dock that floats. Im thinking of putting the wood cave thing under the rocks which can also raise the basking level which i've been wanting to do. I just want to make sure that the wood is ok if its underwater.

Most wood will rot in water. There are certain types of wood that are suitable for aquatic environments but they will usually say that. Petco sells plastic caves that look just like the wood ones specifically for aquatic turtles.

The wood pictured in the link you gave is not meant to be in a wet environment--it's to be used as a refuge for reptiles other than aquatic turtles.

If you want to make a cave, it would be better to use a material that's more durable. If you want to raise the basking level, consider a basking area that can be adjusted to the water level, like a turtle dock.
